Overview

Recent developments in technologies that make large scale use of image and video data, such as the internet, multimedia systems, digital TV, digital cinema, and mobile/wireless devices have increased the need for efficient processing, storage and transmission of visual information. The workshop provides a forum for researchers and industrialists to discuss and exchange research ideas on recent advances in image and video processing with applications to multimedia, visual pattern recognition, and visual information security and surveillance. Topics of particular interest include, but not limited to:

  • Biometrics
  • Video Analysis
  • Digital Watermarking
  • Image and Video Quality Assessment
  • Image Quality Enhancement

    Objectives

The goal of this small workshop is to focus on the use of methods inspired by Human Visual System. It is organized in a series of invited pedagogical presentations, describing visual information modeling and processing. The workshop aims to promote exchanges between graduate students and researchers.

The workshop will include invited presentations and poster sessions. It will be organized at University Paris 13, and will take place 12-13 November 2008.
